Jarrovians secured a convincing 42-17 victory over Seghill in a hard-fought contest that saw the visitors run away with the match in the final quarter after a tightly contested first 60 minutes.
The first half was an intense battle, with both sides showing flashes of quality. Seghill started brightly, taking the game to Jarrovians with strong carries and physical dominance in the breakdown. However, Jarrovians responded with quick ball movement and sharp running lines, eventually taking a 19-12 lead into halftime. Seghill’s determination kept them within reach, but Jarrovians' clinical finishing proved the difference.
As the second half began, Seghill remained in the contest, holding Jarrovians at bay and creating chances of their own. At 60 minutes, the scoreline remained close (19-17), with Jarrovians just edging the play, but Seghill’s handling errors and penalties began to creep in, allowing their opponents to seize control.
In the final 20 minutes, Jarrovians showcased some stunning wide play, stretching Seghill’s defence and punishing them on the counterattack. Jarrovians capitalised on Seghill’s mistakes, scoring three unanswered tries and a couple of penalties as the game slipped away from the hosts. The visitors’ pace and precision out wide became too much to handle, as they added to their tally with a series of well-executed moves.
Seghill battled valiantly throughout, but Jarrovians’ ability to convert opportunities in the closing stages secured a well-deserved 42-17 victory.
