Seghill Vs Wallsend
Seghill showcased resilience and flair in a thrilling comeback victory against Wallsend, overturning a halftime deficit to secure a 34-22 win.
The match began with a wonderful sweeping move from left to right from Seghill who released Stewart down the right wing, Pickett playing at 15 supported the break and opened the scoring. Seghill led 5-0.
The home side doubled their tally soon after with Stewart emulating Pickett’s effort. Another expansive move saw Stewart race past the cover defence to cross the line, conversion scored pushing Seghill into a promising 12-0 lead.
However, Wallsend responded with clinical precision, capitalizing on Seghill’s three handling errors to score three unanswered tries before halftime. The visitors led 22-15 at the break, leaving Seghill with work to do.
The second half, however, belonged entirely to Seghill. They came out firing, showing determination and skill to overwhelm Wallsend with three exceptional tries. Wood M sparked the comeback with a moment of individual brilliance, weaving through the Wallsend defence to ignite the home crowd. Tweedy, playing at scrum-half, added another dazzling effort, demonstrating poise and vision to extend the lead.
Archer then sealed the victory, finishing off a flowing move to cap off a dominant second-half display. Seghill’s unrelenting pressure and creativity left Wallsend with no answers, completing the turnaround and securing a well-deserved 34-22 victory.
This performance highlighted Seghill’s attacking prowess and fighting spirit, but the game will be remembered for the wonderful flowing rugby displayed by Seghill making it a memorable win for the team and their supporters.
